Another Pleasure Faire commission, this Redwood bed was built for a woman from Berkeley. I set it up on the deck outside the Aztec Road shop, which consisted of a room 14 x 16 feet, for this photo. I had to extend the length of my lathe with channel irons to be able to turn the 6x6 posts. The flower was made separately and then attached to the panel.

There was a second room to the house and Marina, the woman I had met at the Pleasure Faire, made pots there. The hanging planter is one of hers. That is me in the picture, I was 29 then. This was a wonderful time in my life; I had this nice place with a garden, a lovely talented lady, and a deal that let me ride a horse all over West Marin 3 days a week. The house payment was $30 a month so I could pretty much do whatever I wanted.
