David Clayton, for whom I was making kitchen and other cabinets, built a house for a client named David Jones who asked me to make him a Secretary. This is the result. David Jones owned the Seagull Restaurant in Mendocino and was a supporter of many local artists for many years. When the Seagull burned to the ground David Clayton and his crew built a new building for it. I was still using flat varnish for a finish and painting it on. 1979
